Hutchinson, 2010 Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction, National Band Association 2008 "Citation of Excellence" awardee, former keyboard player for Recording Artist Clarence Carter, has conducted bands and ensembles in the 1996 International Olympic Games, Georgia State Capitol, John F. Kennedy Center, Washington D.C., London, England, Sydney Opera House in Sydney Australia, Beijing and Chengdu, China, San Francisco, California and all the states throughout the Southeastern United States. Hutchinson has received letters of congratulations from many people, including former President William Clinton, Senator Max Cleland, Congressman Jack Kingston, former Savannah Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr., and former Governor Zell Miller.
